Politician

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who scoffed at the use of the word 'politician' in this context. But then I looked it up on dictionary.com, where the second of six definitions was: "a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles." And I reckon that's a pretty fair description of where this particular person is right now.
